A Bucks County couple is making dreams come true for kids. Michele and Gene Rice are helping kids get lessons in everything from piano to martial arts. They started small, but the results are big.

At a martial arts studio in Northeast Philadelphia, Michele Rice and her husband Gene watch 7-year-old Mateo Sanders.

Mateo can rattle off what he's learning: "Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit."

Aikido: A martial art which allows you to defeat your enemy without hurting him. Unless of course he does not know how to properly throw himself to the ground in which case he has his wrist broken in about 20 places. Also known a 'origami with people.'

Arnis: "Harness of the hand." A Filpino martial art, also known as eskrima and kali, centering around stick, blade and empty hand combat. Mispronanciation of the art guarantees a quick taste.

• People find it difficult to carry on a conversation with you since you keep shifting between stances and practicing kicks while talking to them.
• When tripping over your shoelaces you bounce up into fighting stance with a Kiup.

Sabumnim Allen will be singing the National Anthem at PNC Park on Friday, April 14.
Sabumnim will sing before the game begins at 7:05PM, then the Pittsburgh Pirates host the Chicago Cubs.
 
If anyone would like tickets to the game please let him know. If we get enough people to go, we may be able to get a section for Allen's Red Tiger. He needs to know how many tickets you want. After we reach our goal number he will send out an email with further instructions.
